SAVED FROM THE TRASH

Aenictinae

This is one of several subfamilies collectively referred to as "army ants". The Japanese species resembles some cerapachyiine ants in general appearance (i.e. those with a strong constriction between the 2nd and 3rd matasomal segments, producing a two-segmented pedicel). The "army ants" were formerly assigned to the single subfamily Dorylinae, but three subfamilies, including Aenictini, are now recognized, all extracted from Dorylinae sens. lat. (see "Comment" above). The current classification developed in stages over several years (e.g. Brown, 1973; Snelling, 1981; Gottwald, 1982), and has been widely, but not universally, accepted (e.g. Wheeler & Wheeler, 1985). Picture of antI am no ant nut but have always picked 'Antman' as a name for characters in games. I can't remember exactly why anymore. It is the way it is. On Geocities I would have picked 'Antman' for the user name but someone else already did. Formicidae which is the taxonomical name for the family of 'Ant' was also taken. I did a quick net search and found aenictinae.
So there it is. On bungie.net I am still Antman, and you will know me from the way I play. And the Names of Games I create.
Now back to the Show!
