Soulblighter Fashion Update
by WayWardOne #CP#, Press of the West News Syndicate
Soulblighter owes much of his success as leader of the Dark to his trendsetting style as well as his Mighty Machete and vast hordes of vicious and poorly dressed creatures of the night. His trademark scarring and self-mutilated body parts are known throughout the West and inspire a horror quite unlike that of Balor in his pretty white armor.
Though he broke new ground with the ritual scarring, Soulblighter admits that he originally got the idea for the mutilations from the Myrmidons back in the old days, who themselves preferred vanity to valor. While the evolution is obvious, some stipulate that the idea was spawned from a continuous game of one-upmanship between he and Shiver back at college, and that the grotesque lacerations were his response to a "really cool tattoo" Shiver had just gotten but she wouldn't show him where.
Once the enemy is frozen in fear and shock at the primal, almost tribal, shreds of flesh that is the visage of Soulblighter, he promptly lops off their heads with a weapon, nay, a Louisville Ginsu, essentially a katana on a quarterstaff.
"Well, my father was an accountant," Soulblighter explains. "But sometimes he would pretend that he was a gardener at the palace in Muirthemne and he would prance around slicing into the general populace with his sliderule that he had accidentally sharpened; "pruning" is what he called it, I think. I try to block most of that stuff out..."
But no discussion on Soulblighter's fashion savoir-faire would be complete without mentioning the few articles of clothing this raving papparazzi whore does wear. Through the help of fermented grapes and some imaginary people, the inspiration is revealed by Soulblighter's ne'er-do-well brother, Mindmesserupper: "Blighty used to watch alot of Errol Flynn movies. He'd run around with his pajama pants tucked into a pair of my football shinguards. He thought he was cool kicking chairs real hard and it not hurting. I don't really remember when he started wearing the sash. I think he did that just because the elastic in his pajamas was wearing out. He was a pretty weird kid."
While speculation is being kept to a minimum about what the world of fashion has to look forward to when Myth IV: The Fashion Lords is released, a nonexistent source has said that Soulblighter was seen in Thrall-Mart purchasing fatigues.
