Shame on You

Shame on you, you shapely wench,
doubting I enjoyed myself!
I wanted you in my clench,
not put away on a shelf.

Warm shy smile and sparkling eyes,
bobbed hair and artistic style,
drew out of me happy sighs,
made me want to stay awhile.

Now is not a time for doubt,
for little lies - guilt or loss;
we should smile and sing and shout
'till we get exophthalmos!
