When You Are Twenty-Four

Smiled at me across the room,
Drove away my lonely gloom,
Gave me kisses like the sun,
When you were just twenty one.

Laughed and danced the nights away,
Filled the air with verbal play,
I fell deeply in love with you,
When you were just twenty-two.

Held me so tight while I cried,
Comforted me when I sighed,
I drove you away from me,
When you were just twenty-three.

Wishing for a better day,
Where we can laugh, sing, and play,
Hope you will love me more,
When you become twenty-four.
