Ode to a UPS Courier

You were always dressed in brown
and all I could see was blue.
When I saw you about town
I wished to say hello to you.
I'd smile at you and you'd smile back
and that smile lightened my day.
Words were stilled for lack of tact
and I watched you walk away.
I regret that loss of speech;
my short time here has run out.
You are now far out of reach
as I travel a new route.
My destiny lies on the road
and I have very far to go.
But I have a vision I hold;
your beautiful smile's glow.
