My Wish

Often, to myself, in my own mind
I have wished for treasure I could find:
the sweetness of you in summer nights
or dreamy days of dear dual delights.

I'd take the gems from those I defeat,
lay victory laurels at your feet.
I'd beseech the heavens for a sign;
when I could have an hour of your time.

But be it a day or an hour;
all the time spent under your power
gathered up carefully, placed with art,
remains eternally in my heart.
